ABOUT ALEXA

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Alexa Demie is a singer, songwriter, actress and designer. She is best known for her current role as Maddy Perez on Euphoria and began acting back in 2015. She appeared in Ray Donovan a year later and had her big break in 2018 when she played Estee in Jonah Hill’s nostalgic hit movie Mid90s. Since then, she has appeared on two Netflix Original series, Love and The OA. In 2019, she starred in the film Waves and, one year later, appeared in the film Mainstream, directed by Gia Coppola, alongside Andrew Garfield and Maya Hawke.

In the coming years, Demie hopes to produce her first independent feature film based on her mother, Rose Mendez, a Los Angeles makeup artist who immigrated to the United States from Mexico at an early age. Demie plans on playing her mother in the film, highlighting the struggles of the immigrant experience, particularly in Hollywood during the 1980s. Because of her mother's influence, Demie has a passion for makeup and often does her own for her role as Maddy Perez.

Off the screen, Demie has directed two music videos for her artist boyfriend, JMSN. She also released her first single, Girl Like Me, in 2016 and her second, Leopard Limo, in September of last year. With her music, Demie takes an alternative indie approach. Demie has also designed sunglasses before, circa 2010, when she was only a senior in high school. Her sunglass collection, Mainframe, was really popular in Asia and particularly in Japan. To her fans, Demie is known to be an enigma but that’s just one of the many things that keep things interesting!
